Pichetto: “Renewable Energy Communities are a change of mentality in the area: becoming producers and consumers of energy is a cultural fact”
What will be the role of Renewable Energy Communities in our country? The Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, spoke about it during the Turin stage of a tour dedicated precisely to the promotion of the so-called CERs. Here is his thought.
“Small villages are emptying because there is a lack of services, so we must provide opportunities and the CERs can help. This also means great attention to the territory, in particular in the Piedmont Region which has 1,049 small municipalities under 5 thousand inhabitants, where the benefits of the incentive decree are added”, said Pichetto.
“The CERs – added the Minister, addressing the audience gathered in the Turin Readers’ Club – will give us a push to reverse the proportion between renewables and fossils, to achieve the 2030 objectives”.
“What happened three years ago, with the price of gas skyrocketing, made us think – Pichetto continued – about how much the cost of energy weighs on our society, how much it costs families and businesses”.

CER: the choice of companies to rely on
To the audience, the owner of the Environment also made a recommendation, that of choosing serious companies for the creation of CERs, being wary of overly generous offers and companies without a solid background. To avoid improvised operators, therefore, “the offers must be carefully evaluated from a technical and economic point of view”, concluded the minister.
