Multidisciplinary in-depth studies continue at the ITIS Artom in Asti. An interesting meeting on Monday 29 April, in the main hall, as part of the Finanza Amica meetings organized by the Rotary Club of Asti, discussed money laundering and anti-money laundering.
Economic and financial issues are topics that are not always clear and well-known, even though there are many occasions when they are discussed. A lack of knowledge of economic and financial tools and mechanisms leads to important critical decision-making issues even in everyday life situations. Central themes within the active citizenship paths aimed at three-year high school students. During the meeting, which was attended not only by numerous classes from the Institute but also some from Alfieri, Dr. Borgia (former General of the GdF) and Dr. Gachet (expert in financial instruments) spoke, introduced by the president of Rotary Asti, Dr. Maurizio Mela. The Dr. Borgia explained to students the characteristics of the crime of money laundering¸ 648bis of the penal code, and the differences with that of self-laundering, 648-ter1; he then illustrated the most common ways in place today to clean up the money coming from illicit trafficking.
Dr. Gaghet presented to the students the different ways savers invest their money: he illustrated with clarifying examples the difference between shares, bonds, investment funds, ETFs, savings plans and postal savings bonds. At the end of the meeting, which continued until after 12.00, those present were able to ask the experts questions and doubts on the topics addressed: the topics covered were Satispay, tax havens and the unfounded nature of the expression safe investments. From the participation of male and female students as well as from their questions we can deduce that the objective of the organizers of the meeting, namely to involve and bring young people closer to important issues related to the world of finance, was fully achieved.
