Fvg-Virginia, a memorandum to strengthen economic relations

1

Relations between Friuli Venezia Giulia and the United States are intensifying. The meeting of the President of the Region Massimiliano Fedriga, in institutional view in the United States, with the governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin laid the foundations for the signing of a memorandum between the American State and Friuli Venezia Giulia to favor Italian and American companies to invest in the two territories. A new opportunity for mutual development that will contribute to the economy of our region and also, from a broader perspective, of Italy.

As highlighted by the president at the end of the meeting, which was also attended by the honorary consul of Italy in Philadelphia Gianmarco Bellini, the agreement will allow the exchange of information between the production entities in the regional territory and overseas, with the involvement of stakeholders and of institutional realities aimed at promoting economic growth and attracting investments. All starting from strategic sectors common to both territories, such as port logistics, naval engineering, innovation and research and also agri-food. On this occasion, Fedriga highlighted how the Region is firmly convinced that strategic collaborations must be based not only on institutional aspects but also on
the economic ones; in this sense, greater economic cooperation between Friuli Venezia Giulia and US companies and their mutual presence on their respective markets can be an element of strengthening the strategic alliance between Europe, Italy and the USA.
