Today, at the Technical Commercial Institute – ITC G. Piovene in Vicenza, the policemen of the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters held a meeting with the students, as part of the permanent campaign of the State Police “This is not love” , in order to promote awareness against gender violence.
The initiative, given the dramatic relevance of the subject, with a view to prevention and education, aims at a radical change of pace of a consolidated phenomenon in society, providing information and tools available, so that, already from adolescence, can provide their contribution, to be an active part of the change.
In the meeting, all types of violence were addressed and clarified, in whatever form it presents: physical, sexual, psychological and economic, given that they all compress the dignity and physical and mental integrity of the victims of gender violence, up to reach the extreme gesture of feminicide and the tools available to the institutions were examined, both at a criminal and preventative level, with a thorough examination of the Police Commissioner’s monitoring provision, the warning for domestic violence and for persecutory acts.
Finally, in light of recent regulatory innovations in the field of personal prevention measures to combat hardship and juvenile crime, as well as for the safety of minors in the digital environment, the topics of bullying and cyberbullying were addressed, placing the emphasis on personal prevention measures aimed at minors, with particular attention to warnings.
A debate followed with the numerous students and teachers who attended, who asked numerous questions and presented some of their considerations on the topic.
