Explosion in the early afternoon today in a semi-submerged hydroelectric power plant in Bargi, near Lake Suviana (Bologna). The firefighters are engaged in search operations for possible missing persons. Rescue interventions.

«We are trying to reach the level where the accident occurred and to access the premises, we still don’t know what exactly happened. At the moment, around ten teams are at work and the divers are also ready to intervene.” Luca Cari, manager of emergency communications at the general command of the Fire Brigade, says this, taking stock of the explosion that occurred in the Suviana hydroelectric power plant. The firefighters, he adds, “immediately rescued three burnt people” while there is still no certainty about what happened to the others present at the time of the explosion.

“Witnesses have indicated to us seven people who are missing, but we don’t know for sure whether they were involved in the accident or whether they managed to find shelter.” The company’s employees, concludes Cari, “were working inside the premises to get a pump back into operation.”
