Andrew Crugnola on the top step of the podium in a rally is nothing new, in fact it is now the rule. The strangeness is seeing the three-time Italian champion in that position but without the steering wheel in your hands, but rather the route notes. In fact, Crugnola won the Motors Show Rally Pavia on Sunday 7th in the role of navigator of the Venetian pilot Stefano Zambon who last year had won another circuit race, the “Vedovati”. In truth, Andrea has driven anyway in some stages of the race.
The Zambon-Crugnola crew was equipped with the new Citroen C3 WRC of the EASI team, the same one that follows the Varese native in the CIAR, the absolute Italian championship. Car number 4 has won the internal derby with the “sister” entrusted to Guido Zanazio and Cesare Brusa 47″4 behind. The overall podium was completed by “Linos” and by Alice Caprile on the first R5 class car, one Volkswagen Polo shirt.
Right there R5 ranking gives other satisfactions to the Varesotto colors starting from classy podium obtained by the veteran Giacomo Ogliari, flanked by Lele Falzone aboard the Skoda Fabia Rally2 of the Erreffe team. A result dedicated by Jack to his sister Lillarecently passed away, and remembered by the driver from Varese with an inscription on the car.
Top ten also achieved by another driver from the Sette Laghi, Dario Messori, eighth on Skoda Fabia R2 together with Luca Pieri while Paris Brusa he finished immediately behind, eleventh, in another Czech car driven by Matteo Sanfilippo.
