CGIL and UIL proclaimed 4 hours of general strike in all private sectors for Thursday 11 April. The objectives of the national mobilization, which will also be expressed at a territorial level, are “zero deaths at work, a fair tax reform, a new social model of doing business”.

Also in Liguria, workers from all private sectors will fold their arms for 4 hours with demonstrations that will be divided as follows for each province: in Genoa from 9 to 11 a protest in front of the Prefecture, in Savona from 11 to 13 a protest in front of the Prefecture building. In Imperia from 9.30am to 12.30pm demonstration in Piazza Bianchi while in La Spezia from 9.30am demonstration in front of the Prefecture.

“For CGIL and UIL, health and safety at work are central and must become a constraint to be able to carry out business activities. In Liguria in 2023 22 people died at work. This is unacceptable – explain Maurizio Calà, CGIL general secretary Liguria and Emanuele Ronzoni, extraordinary commissioner of Uil Liguria – Furthermore, on the tax front, employees and pensioners pay over 90% of Irpef revenue, while entire economic categories continue to avoid paying up to 70% of the taxes due. overall continues to be equal to 90 billion per year. We want to put the value of work back at the center of the economic and social policies of the government and businesses, starting with the renewal of national contracts and a law on representation”.
