A meeting took place yesterday between the partners of European project Jardival 2 with the aim of improving the attractiveness of the cross-border territory, increasing the visibility and attendance of the gardens of the Italian-French Riviera.
The Councilor for European Funds Sara Tonegutti spoke together with the general secretary, Dr. Monica Di Marco. Also present were the manager of the Environment Sector Linda Peruggi and the competent offices.
“It is an important project – declares councilor Tonegutti – which will not only improve the gardens of Villa Ormond but will make them more accessible and sustainable with promotion on both a tourist and cultural level”.
TO Sanremoin fact, the interventions concern i gardens of Villa Ormond which will be included in the so-called “packages” and cross-border, sustainable and inclusive tourist circuits. Furthermore, accessibility for sustainable tourism for all four seasons will be improved and the area will be promoted at a tourism level in order to increase and develop the offer to the general public and sector operators, both nationally and cross-border. and international.
The achievement of these objectives will go through the following phases:
- implementation of an architectural and plant redevelopment intervention through the creation of a new access gate (sea side) aimed at enhancing the Ormond park by users of the cycle/pedestrian path,
- enhancement of the new South/North axis of the park, through the creation of scenographic and safety lighting,
- environmental and functional redevelopment intervention of the green areas of the park and construction of a new irrigation system,
- creation of information structures to be positioned in the park which, through a specific “graphic layout” in continuity with the existing panels, will allow access to historical and botanical information also through the use of digital tools (QR code…) which will direct the visitor to “dedicated” web pages,
- organization of a cross-border conference/event with the participation of partners, technicians and schools for the valorisation of the network of gardens and the excellence of the territory, with comparison of the redevelopment and maintenance techniques of cross-border gardens.
