The film’s synopsis reads:

Delia (Paola Cortellesi) is Ivano’s wife, the mother of three children. Wife, mother. These are the roles that define her and that’s enough for her. We are in the second half of the 1940s and this ordinary family lives in a Rome divided between the positive push of liberation and the miseries of the recent war. Ivano is the supreme leader and owner of the family, he works hard to bring the little money home and never misses an opportunity to underline it, sometimes with contemptuous tones, other times, directly with the belt. He only has respect for his scoundrel father, Sor Ottorino, a spiteful and despotic old man for whom Delia is to all intents and purposes the carer. Delia’s only relief is her friend Marisa, with whom she shares moments of lightness and some intimate confidence. It’s spring and the whole family is excited about the imminent engagement of the beloved eldest daughter Marcella who, for her part, only hopes to get married quickly to a good boy from the middle class, Giulio, and finally free herself from that embarrassing family. Delia doesn’t ask for anything else either, she accepts the life she has been given and a good marriage for her daughter is all she aspires to. The arrival of a mysterious letter, however, will ignite the courage to overturn the pre-established plans and imagine a better future, not only for her.

In addition to the aforementioned Paola Cortellesi – in her first as a director – the cast of the film also includes Valerio Mastandrea (who plays Ivano), Romana Maggiora Vergano (Marcella), Giorgio Colangeli (Sir Ottorino), Emanuela Fanelli (Marisa), Francesco Centorame (Julius) e Vinicio Marchioni (Nino).

The film is a production Wildsidea Fremantle e group company Vision Distribution, a Sky group company, produced by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Gangarossa. The screenplay is signed by Furio Andreotti, Giulia Calenda And Paola Cortellesi.

There’s Still Tomorrow will be broadcast on Sky Cinema Uno on Sunday 31 March, at 9.15pm. It will therefore also be available in on-demand streaming on NOW.
