Today is the third stage of the Tour, the third of four stages that will be run in the Belpaese. From Piacenza to Turin, the route passes through Tortona in memory of the great Fausto Coppi, crossing the Langhe, and some of the roads already traveled by the Milan-Sanremo. Final sprint for sprinters, 231 km.
The first 65 kilometers on the flat, in Tortona the runners will encounter a Gpm (1.1 km, 6.3%) dedicated to our Fausto Coppi, winner of the Tour in 1949 and 1952. In Alessandria then the flying finish, then again Monferrato, Langhe and the provinces of Asti and Cuneo.
75 km from the finish line, the route climbs the Côte de Barbaresco (1.5 km at 6.5%), and finally the Côte de Sommariva Perno (3.1 km at 4.6%). In the finale, a not too demanding descent with the last few kilometres flat with passages in Carmagnola, Carignano, Vinovo. From Stupinigi, the long straight of over 7 kilometres begins, the last two curves and the final straight of Corso Galileo Ferraris in Turin. Estimated arrival between 16.57-17.30.
