Rome, 1 July. (Adnkronos) – Wimbledon: Fossi (Pd), for the right, sport remains paid only
“Today Wimbledon starts but the Azzurri matches will only be visible for a fee. Despite requests and parliamentary questions, the Meloni Government has not yet updated the Agcom list of sporting events of particular national importance that should be available to everyone for free by law, especially after the exploits of Italian athletes in tennis. Attention: it is not a question of forcing Rai to pay for exclusives but of forcing, as has always happened, the TVs that have the rights to the matches to broadcast them in clear”. This was declared by the Democratic Party deputy and secretary of the PD of Tuscany Emiliano Fossi.
“Sport cannot be just a privilege for the few: the European football cups from next season broadcast only for a fee and the exponential increases in subscriptions to pay TV are in this context an alarming precedent. We ask the government, whose members never miss an opportunity to seek likes on social media with sporting successes, to intervene immediately to give everyone the opportunity to watch the matches of our champions”, concludes Fossi.
