On the eve of the grand departure of the Tour de France from Florence, the Trek Madone Gen 8 with an exceptional testimonial: the cyclamen jersey of the Giro d’Italia Jonathan Milanafter the Italian Championships working to defend the Olympic title in the team pursuit.

Before talking about the track and Paris 2024 (don’t miss the interview in the next episode of the BlaBlaBike podcast, ed.) with the bull from Buja we focused on the new road bike, in top-of-the-range OCLV900 carbon which aims to become a symbol in terms of interpretation of light, fast and obviously aero bikes.

«I find it responsive, easy to drive downhill and obviously also in sprints.. I’m obsessive about measurements, I struggle to adapt when I change vehicles, but in this case the transition was very quick. I thought I would have difficulty but I immediately felt good. The design strongly recalls the Madone of the previous generation, all with better comfort, even more usable in different contexts and it is very light” says the 23-year-old from Buja in the Trek Shop in via delle Cascine 35.

The Madone 8 has already won the first stage of the Dauphiné thanks to Mads Pedersen, at its first outing in the race, will it be able to prove itself as the fastest bike also in the first stage of the Tour de France? The hope is General Manager of Lidl Trek Luca Guercilena. «Trek continues to carry out a great deal of research and development. The focus is on the final product, but the bike is tested for the racing. At the Giro with Jonny we achieved the goals we had set ourselves, now we aim to do the same at the Tour with Mads in the flat and mixed stages, with Giulio Ciccone on the climbs, with an eye also on the general classification” comments the Milanese technician, while showing us the aerodynamic bottle cages of the bike that his boys will use at the Grand Boucle.

The new generation of Trek bikes was developed and tested by the professional team and encloses in a single model the excellences developed in the past in several bikes for the various routes. For all the technical details we invite you to read the dedicated article on tuttobicitech.it.
