Under the hood, the new M flagship hides a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8, with 585 HP of maximum power and a torque of 750 Nm. The electric motor, placed in the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, it adds an output of 197 hp and a torque of 280 Nm, which can be increased up to 450 Nm. In all, the BMW M5 is capable of releasing up to 535 kW/727 hp and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm. The 18.6 kWh battery guarantees an electric range of approximately 67-69 km (declared by BMW, in the WLTP cycle). The BMW M5 is supported in its dynamics by the M xDrive all-wheel drive with electronically controlled self-locking differential, which also includes a two-wheel drive mode with the stability system deactivated. As regards performancethe German sports car reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, but with the M Driver’s Package it increases to 305 km/h. The BMW M5 (as well as the Touring version of the M5), built at the German plant in Dingolfing, will be coming to market next November. The price list for our country has not yet been defined, but we know that in Germany prices start at 144,000 euros for the sedan and 146,000 euros for the station wagon.
