Nothing makes a motoring enthusiast as sad as a supercar left to rot in the dirt. This Porsche spent the last twenty years like this before anyone saved it.

Considering the somersaults that many enthusiasts they would be willing to do to drive a supercar, it is always a blow to the heart when we find ourselves in front of one of these cars abandoned by someone who either could no longer keep it or suddenly had problems of some kind having to leave the steering wheel of his car. The most striking case is that of the cemetery of supercars in Dubai, where thousands of people who have had economic problems have abandoned their cars to escape arrest but it is certainly not the only one: even in the countries around us, without going too far from Italy, we can find situations of this type that collectors like those of carry AMMO Nyc to recover and restore these cars.

Obviously all this is done with the intention of reselling the car, reason for the restoration it must be flawless. This even in cases where the cars have suffered the worst imaginable, such as, for example, a good twenty years spent in the woods gathering dust. This luxurious and powerful Porsche was saved just when it seemed all was lost.

Brought back to life

Today’s car is a Porsche 911 Targa from 1978, a variant of the longest-running sports car that the German brand has ever put on the road. The car is equipped with a powerful six-cylinder engine positioned behind the driving cab, capable of producing over 300 horsepower. It boasts two seats and a lighter body compared to the standard version of the German car.

The fact that such a car in excellent condition could be worth even 55 thousand euros, it didn’t stop the owner from abandoning it in the woods until the car’s yellow paintwork turned an indefinite color due to rust and dust. Worse still, the car was in such bad shape that the unbelievable happened: what looked like mold or some type of fungi were found on the seats while leaves came out of the exhaust pipe.

Luckily the restoration work was successful: everything was cleaned and repaired bringing the car back to more than fair conditions: now, all that remains is to find a buyer for the car who will surely be able to make its roar heard on the road again. Hoping the next owner treats it a little better, compared to what the car has been through so far.
