Vision Pro apparently isn’t generating much interest

How is Apple’s Vision Pro doing? According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, not so good. Apple would in fact cut sales estimates and therefore put a brake on the production of the ambitious headset for “spatial computing”: according to sources in Apple’s supply chain by Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple now expects to sell between 400,000 and 450,000 units of the headset in 2024, against a market estimate of up to 800,000 units. According to the analyst, Apple is also questioning the roadmap for launching new, cheaper models in the future.

The report by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst famous for his predictions on Apple’s moves, follows that of a few days ago by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg who, in the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, spoke of a sharp decline in interest for Vision Pro at the US Apple Stores (remember that Vision Pro has currently been launched only in the United States), and by the early adopters themselves, although it must be said that, regarding this last point, in his article Gurman seems talk more about his personal experience than objective data.

It is true that in recent months, apart from the initial novelty effect, there has not been much talk about Vision Pro, there are no killer apps that have grabbed the headlines of the tech press, while the most interesting use cases seem to come more from B2B world, such as the support for Vision Pro offered by NVIDIA within its Omniverse platform, and from the consumer one.
