Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 available in public preview on Windows and Mac

Microsoft is preparing the launch of Office LTSC 2024, a new version of its popular desktop productivity suite for businesses requiring a stable, long-term solution. The company has just released a first preview of the release, allowing commercial users to try the upcoming new features in advance.

Office LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel) a perpetual version of Office designed specifically for organizations that operate in environments with devices that cannot be updated frequently, systems without an internet connection, or specialized equipment such as medical. Unlike Microsoft 365, Office’s cloud counterpart that receives continuous updates, Office LTSC 2024 will offer a complete set of features at launch, with a five-year support cycle.

Microsoft releases public preview of Office LTSC 2024 for business

Microsoft announced last month that the first preview version of Office LTSC 2024 would arrive in April. Compared to previous versions there will be a particular emphasis on performance, security and accessibility. New features include expanded meeting creation options, improved search capabilities in Outlook, and numerous additions to Excel, including Dynamic Charts and Arrays. The new enterprise version will not include Microsoft Publisher,n the Microsoft Teams app, which will be available as a separate download.

The Office LTSC 2024 Commercial Preview includes versions: Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 (with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Access) for Windows And Microsoft Office LTSC Standard 2024 (with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote) for Mac. Previews of Project Professional 2024 and Visio Professional 2024 are also included.

Microsoft emphasized that Office LTSC 2024 will include features from previous versions of Office and a seight set of new features already available in Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, although they have not been specified what these new features will be. In parallel with the launch of Office LTSC 2024, Microsoft will also release Office 2024, a new version of the Office suite for home users.
