Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy AI features will also come to Samsung top of the range Galaxy series arriving on the market in 2022 and 2021.
According to what was stated by a moderator of the Korean company’s community, the One UI 6.1 and (some) functions based on artificial intelligence will arrive on the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, on the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip 4 and on the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
Compared to last year’s Galaxy smartphones (Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9 (5G) and Galaxy Tab S9 (Wi-Fi)), which have already received the full update of all the features that made their debut with the Galaxy S24 range, the smartphones launched in 2021 they will only get two AI features:
- “Circle and search”which allows you to quickly search the web by drawing a circle around the item of interest in an image (a feature that can be used in all apps that allow screen capture)
- Magic Rewrite, probably referring to “Chat Assistant” which allows the choice of the tone of the messages and the translation into 13 different languages to which others are also being added.
Devices launched in 2022, however, will have exactly the same AI features as the Galaxy S23 FE, i.e all those of Galaxy AI except Instant Slo-mothe instant slow motion that allows you to slow down any video by holding down the screen, a function apparently too heavy to be handled by the Exynos and Snapdragon processors used before 2023.
These, so all the features coming in addition to Circle and Search and Chat Assistant:
- Notes Assistto generate summaries and translate notes
- Browsing Assist to generate comprehensive summaries of news articles and translations (only available in the Samsung Internet application).
- Transcript Assist to transcribe meeting recordings and generate summaries and translations
- Interpreter, to have natural conversations that will be translated and shown on a split screen
- Live Translate which provides voice and text translations for phone calls.
- Generative editing to resize, reposition or realign objects in photos manually or have suggestions for possible changes
- Wallpapers generated by artificial intelligence.
As for the release date, as stated by the moderator, all these devices will receive One UI 6.1 in early May, at least as far as South Korea is concerned. There is currently no information regarding the release timeline as well on the global market.

To further confirm, Samsung issued a press release stating that the update for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 foldables, and Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets will begin to be available from the beginning of May.
The Korean company also reiterated that theOne UI 6.1 will bring with it most of the Galaxy AI features here you come to the other top of the range models for 2023: Circle to Search with Google, Note Assist, Browsing Assist, Transcript Assist, Interpreter, Live Translate and Chat Assist.
