Will it really be like this?

The Tuareg 457 it was one of the great absentees of EICMA 2025, a motorcycle that many were waiting to finally complete the range with the 457 engine of the Noale company which already includes Tuono and RS.

According to rumours, the mini Tuareg could replicate the engine and chassis of its sisters, but with increased suspension travel and a larger tank to present itself as a 360-degree off-road adventure. It would be a “sensible” model: easy crossovers are undoubtedly among the most popular models in this period. We know something about her from a technical point of view (we talk about it below), but nothing regarding aesthetics. For this reason we compared the inventiveness of artificial intelligence and Oberdan Bezzi, the Italian designer who often made us dream with his stylistic “anticipations”. Bezzi hypothesized the Tuareg with Aprilia Racing livery (but also look at his vintage elaboration for the Tuareg 660), the result is undoubtedly credible. Indeed, looking at both of them, we can say it without fear of contradiction: Obiboi batte IA 1-0.

The idea of the Tuareg developed by the AI is more scholastic

But what will it be like, when (and if) it arrives?

Let’s start with the engine: the 457 cm³ parallel twin, the one that delivers 47.6 HP on the RS, will have an adequate set-up for off-road use: less thrust up top, more torque at low revs, just what is needed to tackle sand and stones without worries. And the suspensions? Here you can expect generous travel, perhaps 200-220 mm both front and rear, with a fork of adequate diameter and a monoshock with progressive linkage. Spoked wheels, obviously, with a 21-inch rim at the front and 18 at the rear, the classic configuration for those who want to have fun even away from the asphalt. The aluminum engine guard would be a must, as would a nice high fairing to protect from the wind during road transfers.
As for the electronics, if Aprilia were to maintain what has already been seen on the RS and Tuono 457, we would find the Ride by Wire accelerator, three Riding Modes (Eco, Sport, Rain), or perhaps four assuming an offroad map and traction control adjustable on three levels. The ABS would be classic Bosch, with the possibility of deactivating it at the rear to play a bit on dirt. All managed by a nice 5-inch TFT display, perhaps with the possibility of optionally adding the bi-directional gearbox and Aprilia MIA connectivity to connect the smartphone. In short, all the technology that is now expected even on a motorcycle designed for dirt roads. In short, something is moving, but we still have to wait.

This is how Bezzi sees the Tuareg 660, a vintage 90s interpretation that could also work very well for the 457
