LIVORNO — The best female referee in the world for 2025 is Tuscan: the Livorno native Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi it was in fact projected at the top of the global ranking by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (Iffhs).
Ferrieri Caputi, from the Livorno Section, was the first female match referee in an Italian Serie A match. In the international ranking IFFHS has trailed the French by 4 points Stephanie Frappart who had dominated the podium for the last 5 years.
The Italian Referees Association (Aia) expressed all its satisfaction through its president Antonio Zappi, who spoke about the historical page of the Hague and for gender equality in the world of arbitration.
