Dumfries’ words on his season in black and blue compromised by physical problems, then the strong desire for revenge

It hasn’t been an easy season for Denzel at all Dumfries. Physical problems have had a significant impact on the Nerazzurri’s performance, forcing him to sit out for a long time. That’s why, now, there’s a great desire for revenge. Dumfries needs to show that he’s well, that he’s recovered, that he can wear the starting shirt again in the Dutch national team. The Netherlands will face the decisive match on Tuesday against Romania, valid for Euro 2024 round of 16. After a complicated year due to physical problems, Dumfries confirmed in a press conference that he has finally overcome his hamstring problems and is fully fit.

Dumfries: “I had physical problems, now I’m ready to give my best”

“It’s been a different year physically for me“, Dumfries said at a press conference. “I had problems with my hamstring which kept me away from the pitch longer than expected. But now I can say I’m back to 100%. I am ready to give my best in the match against Romania.” With these words, Dumfries reassured the fans and the coach about his physical condition, showing great determination and desire to return as a protagonist.

Dumfries also faced the criticisms received from the Oranje, maintaining a focused and positive attitude: “After matches you often hear harsh words, but it is important to maintain a positive atmosphere within the team. The desire to win cannot be trained, it must be intrinsic. The match against Austria put us in the right tension.”

During the Press conference, Dumfries also spoke about teammate Memphis Depay, praising him for his importance within the group: “I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why Memphis is indispensable. He’s one of our most important players and a nice guy to work with. His presence is fundamental for us.”

Another topic touched upon was the possibility of playing together with Frimpong on the same band. Dumfries clarified: “We played together against France and we did well. We are not the same type of player: he is more aggressive, but I think we can play well together.”
