De Ligt closes in on Man United: Five-year deal accepted, now talks with Bayern Munich

The future of Matthijs de Ligt could be at Manchester United. In recent days the Red Devils have made contact with the Bayern Munich defender’s entourage and now, as reported by the Dutch newspaper The Telegraphthe player would be closer to England, since an economically important offer for five years has arrived from Manchester.

The English club will now have to find a solution with Bayern Munich, who bought him from Juventus two summers ago for 67 million euros. In his two years at Bayern Munich, de Ligt didn’t convince much and in the last season he also lost his place as a starter, alternating with Kim, Dier and Upamecano at the center of the Bavarian defence. Precisely for this reason the footballer would welcome a move to the Premier League.

Only last week, the same player had shown a certain intolerance towards the topic of the transfer market in a press conference following the Netherlands’ retreat. In fact, to yet another question about his future, the ex Juve he had replied angrily: “You don’t understand Dutch, do you?”, albeit with a smile and then “I already said that now is not the time for me to think about the future. Now we play the European Championship, which is very important for me and for the national team. That’s why I can’t say anything about this situation at the moment, but I’m happy with my second season at Bayern. For the moment I’m concentrating on the European Championship and then we’ll see what happens”.
