MESSINA – Akademia Sant’Anna closes the summer market with a “place 4” move. To complete the roster to be handed over to coach Fabio Bonafede for next season, the American spiker Adanna Rollins has been hired, her last year with the Changas de Naranjito jersey, a team playing in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino, the top Puerto Rican tournament.
A native of Austin (Texas), born in 1999, 183 cm tall, Adanna grew up in Carrollton, a town in the “Lone Star State”, located between the counties of Denton, Dallas and Collin.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science, Business and Marketing Education, a Master of Education in Higher Education, and a Graduate Certificate in Sports, Fitness and Recreation Management.
Her athletic career has accompanied her school career. During her high school years (Hebron High School) she won three state championships, two MVPs, the Under Armor First Team All-American in 2017, the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018, in addition to being a “Top 3 finalist’s for National Player of the Year” that same season.
She has also earned numerous awards in college: three-time AVCA All-Region (2018, 2020, 2022), two Second-Team All-Big Ten Awards (2018, 2020), AVCA All-North Region Freshman of the Year (2018), Big Ten All-Freshman Team (2018), two Academic All-Big Ten Honors and won the Big Ten in 2018. The following year she reached the NCAA Final Four National Semifinals and was elected MVP at the Austin Regional Finals. She has played in two collegiate seasons with the U.S. National Team (2019, 2022) and won the All-SEC championship (2022) being included in the relevant honor roll.
In her professional career, she has played two championships in the Puerto Rican league.
