Scheduled from 1st to 14th July, the 137th edition of the historic London grass tournament will feature Jannik Sinner as the number one seed, fresh from his very recent victory at the ATP in Halle. The Italian champion, who will debut against the German Hanfmann, could take to the field in the second round against Berrettini and, in the semifinal, against his “great rival” Spanish Alcaraz. The spotlight will also be on the Tuscan champion Jasmine Paolini, fresh from the Roland Garros final.

The countdown has begun for the most prestigious and anticipated Slam of the 2024 tennis season: Wimbledon. Scheduled from 1st to 14th July, the 137th edition of the historic London grass tournament will see the Italian champion as the number one seed Jannik Sinner fresh from the recent victory at the ATP in Halle. The South Tyrolean, the first Italian ever to be number one seeded in a Slam, could find himself face to face in the semi-final against his “great rival” from Spain Carlos Alcaraz, reigning champion after last year’s final against Djokovic. It will be possible to follow all the Wimbledon matches live exclusively on Sky Sport and in streaming on NOW from 1st to 14th July.
The men’s draw
In the first round of the Grand Slam, Sinner will face the German Yannik Hanfmann, number 95 in the ATP ranking, but he could find himself facing a derby in the second round against Matteo Berrettini, who will debut against the Hungarian Fucsovics. Among the Italians who will take to the London court we also find Luciano Darderi e Lorenzo Musetti (fresh from the final at Queen’s) who in the first round will face respectively the English Choinski and the French Lestienne. Among the Italians also Flavio Cobolli e Luke Nardirespectively against the Japanese Hijikata and the Argentine Etcheverry.
Among the protagonists of Wimbledon 2024 also Novak Djokovicwho has won 7 times on the London grass (just one less than Roger Federer’s record). Fresh from an operation on the meniscus of his right knee after Roland Garros, the Serbian champion took to the court of the All England Club this morning to practice in a set against Sinner, who won with a score of 6-3. Good news, however, for Nole who was able to test the condition of his knee.

The women’s draw
On the women’s front, the spotlight is all on Jasmine Paulinifresh from the Roland Garros final. In her debut, the Tuscan tennis player will meet Sara Sorribes Tormo and, in the second round, one between the Belgian Minnen and the English Watson. Among the Italian protagonists of Wimbledon we also find Lucy Bronzettiwho will take the field against Leylah Fernandez in the first round, Elizabeth Cocciaretto (in the first round against the Romanian Todoni), Martina Trevisan (against the American Keys) e Sara Errani (against Czech Noskova).
