Pioltelli sports centre: work almost completed, approval of the rugby field is awaited

“We are awaiting the approval of rugby field, after which it can be used normally.” Words from the sports councilor of Monza, Viviana Guidetti, which took stock of the redevelopment works of the Pioltelli sports center. A construction site worth almost 3 million euros financed with Pnrr funds and which will be returned to the municipal administration on 1 July. Simply put, in a few days the first phase of the intervention will be completed: the synthetic grass has been laid and the new training field has also been completed.

In other words, all you need is approval. The recovery plan also includes the reconstruction of the athletics track, which has been disused for years. It is a 400 meter ring with six lanes and once it is completed it will be the only one of regulation size present in Monza. Inside the athletics track, a natural grass football pitch will also be built complete with changing rooms, a 550-seat grandstand and bathrooms reserved for the public. “We are ready – commented the councilor -. As soon as we receive the approval we are ready to hand the rugby field back to the club. Immediately afterwards we will start with the second phase of the intervention.”
