There will still be coach Ilie Ivanciuc on the Rugby Carpi bench for the 2024-25 Serie C. The scrum coach, Roberto Casolari, is also confirmed with the Romanian coach, while the technical assistant is a new face and goes by the name of Sam Morton, who will take care of the scrum and touchline and will monitor the first team but also the youth teams.

“I am very happy to continue in this sporting project – says coach Ivanciuc –. I want to contribute as much as possible to the players in their rugby growth. The work of Roberto (Casolari) and Sam (Morton) in the scrum will be fundamental to obtain positive results. As a group goal, we are aiming to do better than last year, to get as high as possible. Everything will start from building a strong and united group, ready to show our playing identity.”

THE PROFILES

Romanian born in 1971, as a player Ivanciuc played in the 1991 and 1995 world championships. In 1998 he arrived in Italy to wear the Viterbo shirt and in 2002 he moved to Modena, immediately protagonist of the promotion to Serie A. In 2006 he left field for the bench and for the third consecutive year he will be head coach of the Falcons’ first team.

Morton is a specialist, a “skills coach”, an indispensable figure in the technical staffs of national teams and professional teams in rugby today. The coach comes from the Anglo-Saxon school, formed between the Exeter Chiefs Academy and Plymouth Albion in England, where he started as a scrum coach.
