With the German one, Sinner has won fourteen tournaments, four in this memorable season which began with the success at the Australian Open and continued with subsequent victories in Rotterdam, Miami and, indeed, Halle. Results to which must be added three semi-finals reached in Indian Wells, Monte Carlo and Roland Garros.

An incredible score that also allowed the Italian champion to overtake Djokovic at the top of the ATP rankings, which occurred during Roland Garros. A record that Sinner further consolidated with the 500 points obtained in Halle, which allowed him to widen the gap on Djokovic himself and on Alcaraz, who slipped to third position after the elimination suffered by Draper at Queen’s, the tournament in which he was champion in charge.

Sinner, the verdict before Wimbledon: it’s already certain

Sinner, as world number one, will be the first seed in the 2024 edition of Wimbledon. The draw will be held on Friday 28 June Championship scoreboard, already a decisive moment. Jannik, however, will face his third Slam of the season with one important certainty in his favor. Regardless of the outcome of Wimbledon, in fact, Sinner is sure of maintaining first place in the ATP ranking. At the moment, the Italian has 1530 points more than Djokovic and 1760 more than Alcaraz. On Monday 1 July, the opening day of Wimbledon, the points obtained in the last edition will be deducted.

Sinner, semi-finalist in 2023, will lose 720; Djokovic, last year’s finalist, 1200 while the title holder Alcaraz 2000. Consequently, in the new ranking, Jannik will have 9170 points, Djokovic 7160 and Alcaraz 6130. With the 2000 points up for grabs at Wimbledon, even if the Serbian or Spanish were to win, it will be impossible for both to overcome Sinner.

The Italian, therefore, is in fact certain to maintain the lead at least until the summer Masters on American cement. In the first, scheduled for August in Montreal, Sinner will have to defend the 1000 points obtained last year from his first victory in a Thousand, which occurred precisely at the Canadian Open against De Minaur.

In the week following the conclusion of Wimbledon, Sinner will participate in the Bastad 250 in Swedenclay court tournament, chosen in preparation for the Paris Olympic tournament, scheduled from July 27th at Roland Garros.
