A new sports space dedicated to three-way basketball and volleyball has been created inside the Parco dei Melograni, a symbolic place of aggregation and collective participation that is growing in the heart of Varano de’ Melegari.
Caterina Dallara Foundation, promoter of the project, thus celebrates together with the community a new stage in the park’s development path.
The Parco dei Melograni, born from the initiative “Let’s build community places together” created with the technical support of KCity, is configured as a point of reference for the population of Varano de’ Melegari and the entire Val Ceno, offering spaces for education, culture and sport. The new sports area will encourage inclusion, aggregation and fun, strengthening team spirit and mutual respect.
The inauguration, scheduled for Sunday 30 June 2024 at 5 pm, it will be an afternoon of sport and fun with three-way volleyball and basketball tournaments. Participation in the tournaments is free and open to all those who wish to form a team and test themselves in an environment of celebration and conviviality.
The event was created in collaboration with USD Varanese, which actively contributed to the organization of the event. At the end of the races, all participants and spectators are invited to a musical aperitif to celebrate this important occasion together.
The construction of the new sports area represents only the beginning of a larger project which will see, in the autumn, the start of work on a pump track, followed by the completion of the building which will house the headquarters of the Caterina Dallara Foundation as well as to multipurpose rooms managed in collaboration with local associations, scheduled for the end of 2024. These developments, supported by the community and local realities, confirm the importance of the park as a shared and participated space.
