the intersections of the draw based on the seedings

Jannik Sinner will appear among the small group of favorites at Wimbledon 2024, the third Slam of the season which will be staged from 1st to 14th July on London grass. The world number 1, fresh from his triumph at the ATP 500 tournament in Halle, will try to make his way in one of the most prestigious and iconic tennis events, perhaps trying to emulate his exploits five months ago at the Australian Open. The South Tyrolean champion has all it takes to give himself great satisfaction in an event where last year he reached the semi-final.

What could Jannik Sinner’s scoreboard look like? The draw will take place on Friday 28 June (at 11.00), but let’s see in detail what its path could be by virtue of the various seedings. The first two rounds will be against athletes outside the top 32 positions, the bar will be raised to round of 32 where he could face a rival between tds number 25 and number 32: in those ranking positions there are bogeymen such as the British Jack Draper and the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor, but also Lorenzo Musetti.

In the round of 16, however, the opponent could be between 13th and 16th place of the world ranking: the Dane Holger Rune is very scary, the Americans Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton are decidedly treacherous, watch out for the Frenchman Ugo Humbert. In the quarter-finals they could draw someone between fifth and eighth place in the rankings: the Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev could be welcome, the Norwegian Casper Ruud would be the best choice, to avoid the Polish Hubert Hurkacz against whom he won the final in Halle.

Be careful, though, because if Djokovic were to withdraw, many things would change: no Paul among the rivals eligible for the round of 16 but the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime is in, no Medvedev among the possibilities for the quarterfinals but the Australian Alex de Minaur is in. In the semi-final the options will be either the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz or the German Alexander Zverev, but if Djokovic were to give up then the alternatives would be Zverev and Medvedev. If Djokovic were to be there then Sinner could only meet him in the final, if the Serbian were to give up then the blue would only meet Alcaraz in the eventual final act.
