The escape from England towards the TOP14 continues unabated. One of the main protagonists of the market is Sergio Parisse and Andrea Masi’s Toulon, who have announced two purchases from the Premiership.

After the official announcement of Kyle Sinckler leaving the Bristol Bears, the transalpine club made official on Monday afternoon the arrival of another English international, the third line Lewis Ludlam from the recent English champions Northampton Saints.

Like his compatriot, the flanker born in 1995 has signed a three-year contract that will tie him to Racing Club Toulonnais until July 2027. Kyle Sinckler and Lewis Ludlam will not be able to play with the English national team according to the eligibility rules of the RFU which does not allow players players who play outside the Premiership to wear the England shirt.

Market: the words of Toulon’s new signings

“I am honored to represent a special club like Toulon. I will give my best to worthily represent the Rossoneri shirt. I also want to test myself in the best league and against the best props every weekend. I’m looking forward to meeting the players, managers and supporters of Stade Mayol and contributing to Toulon’s future success,” said the former Bristol Bears prop.

“I am very excited to join this prestigious club, with a rich history and made up of very talented players,” said Lewis Ludlam on Toulon’s official website.

“I grew up watching players like Jonny Wilkinson and the Armitage brothers represent this shirt. I can’t wait to fight for the team, for the club, in front of the Stade Mayol crowd” declared the English third rower.
