Golf, Ciociaria Alessandra Fanali qualified for the Olympics in Paris

Alessandra Fanali will represent the Italia Team in the women’s Olympic golf tournament. Having secured the men’s passes from Matteo Manassero and Guido Migliozzi, the definitive 48th position in the qualifying ranking for Paris 2024 means that the Italian will qualify for the Games. From 7 to 10 August, at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, she will represent Italy in the individual women’s golf competition.

The 24-year-old born in Alatri and raised in Fiuggi, in the province of Frosinone, thus fulfilled one of her great dreams: participating in the Olympics. In France, she will face champions of the discipline such as, among others, the Americans Nelly Korda (number 1 in the world and gold medal at the Tokyo Games) and Lilia Vu, the Chinese Ruoning Yin, the South Korean Jin Young Ko, the Japanese Yuka Saso, the French Celine Boutier and the New Zealander Lydia Ko (she won a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and a silver at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016). The tournament will be played over 72 holes (18 per day), with a stroke play formula.

There will be 60 participants who will compete for medals in the ‘home’ of the 2018 Ryder Cup. Making her debut at the Olympics, Fanali, who graduated in Sport Business from Arizona State University in the USA, is aiming to achieve a result of prestige.

Alessandra Fanali was born on 30 July 1999. Raised at the Fiuggi Golf Club, now a member of the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, as an amateur in 2016 she won the European Girls Team Championship in Oslo, Norway together with Caterina Don, Alessia Nobilio and Emilie Alba Paltrinieri. Then, in 2017, you were part of the Europe team at the Junior Solheim Cup won by the United States in Iowa. At College, in 2019, she achieved a “hole in one” at the Annika Intercollegiate and participated in the first edition of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the women’s Masters.

Then, in February 2020, he celebrated his first feat in the USA with team success, with Arizona State University, in the “Tri Match in the Desert”. In April 2022 he instead made him the “Silverado Showdown”. The “Sun Devils”, on that occasion, celebrated Arizona State’s 96th performance in an individual match. You have been professional since 9 September 2022, on the Ladies European Tour you placed second both two years ago in the Ladies Italian Open (in Piedmont, at the Margara Golf Club in Fubine Monferrato) and, this year, in the Magical Kenya Open.
