The latest blackmail against Michael Schumacher’s family was orchestrated by a father and his son. This was reported by the German prosecutor’s office in Wuppertal, which is investigating the case linked to yet another extortion attempt against the family members of the F1 champion who ended up in a coma eleven years ago due to a serious skiing accident. As Der Spiegel reports, the prosecution believes that two men aged 53 and 30 would have tried to blackmail ‘Schumi’s’ family, claiming to be in possession of files whose publication would not have been appreciated by the family, and asking in exchange of silence a millionaire sum. The files would have been sent one by one to the ex-pilot’s family, to make it clear that it was something serious, but these data transfers led investigators on the trail of the two men, arrested on 19 June.

Already in 2017, a twenty-five year old had tried to ask Schumacher’s wife for 900,000 euros by threatening their children, including the driver Mick. Just a month ago, however, Schumacher’s family won a legal action against a publisher who had published an interview with the driver created with artificial intelligence in his magazine.
