The Lazio Region is increasingly blue: in the coming months, in fact, several matches of the Italian national football teams will be hosted in the regional territory, as part of the partnership signed with the FIGC. “Thanks to the agreement stipulated between us and the FIGC, not only are we promoting the image of Lazio as we are already doing on the occasion of the European Football Championships, the only Italian region present within Casa Azzurri, but we are bringing the blue shirt back to our provinces – he commented the Regional Councilor for the Environment, Energy Transition, Climate Change, Sustainability, Tourism and Sport Elena Palazzo during a press conference at Casa Azzurri Germany -. In fact, we are proud to announce that we will welcome the Under 21 and Under 20 national teams in Latina and Rieti. In conjunction with the appointments with Italy, we will involve associations and schools on issues related to the values of sport that the blue shirt symbolizes. The national youth competitions will also be an opportunity to verify the standards of international competitions so as to evaluate the priorities of the interventions to be planned, based on the available resources, on the sports facilities of the Region”, we read on the official website of the editorial team.

“The national team confirms itself as an incredible exporter of Made in Italy, capable of transmitting the values of our country – added the Deputy General Secretary and head of the Revenue Area of the FIGC Giovanni Valentini -. This time we do it with a splendid region like the Lazio, both with the national teams and with the youth finals. Thus our path of promotion in Italy and abroad continues.” It starts in September with the Under 21s, who will be in training camp in Latina from 1 September and four days later (Thursday 5th, live on Rai 2) will face the same age group from San Marino at the ‘Domenico Francioni’ stadium in a match valid for the qualifiers for the European Championship 2025. On 10 October, the Under 20s will be on stage in Rieti, at the ‘Centro d’Italia’ Stadium (time and TV programming to be defined), for the match against England valid for the ‘Elite League 2024-25.

On the same day, as made official just now by the FIGC, the Azzurri, currently involved in UEFA EURO 2024, will also return to play in Lazio, at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, against Belgium (Thursday 10 October, 8.45 pm, live on Rai 1), first home match of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League group after the two away games in September in Paris (with France) and Budapest (with Israel).
