With the official renewal of Tommaso Menoncello’s contract, Benetton Rugby has achieved an important managerial result.
The central midfielder of the Italian national team will remain in green and white until at least 30 June 2026. The previous agreement which included a release clause that would have allowed Menoncello to free himself at the end of the 2024/25 season, has been updated.
As DG Antonio Pavanello revealed, the player’s name had ended up in the notebooks of many European clubs, so keeping him in Treviso can be considered a real success.

At the basis of everything there is a relationship of mutual trust between the player and the club, expressed by Tommaso Menoncello himself in an interview given to Journal.

«I have great faith in this project – declared Menoncello – Benetton is a team that year after year is getting closer and closer to rugby’s elite, and the objective is to continue to grow. I come from a season in which I managed to achieve excellent satisfaction on a team and personal level. Winning the Six Nations best player award was a great recognition, it hasn’t been an easy season having just come back from a shoulder injury.”
The escalation of results from the team coached by Marco Bortolami is evident. At the end of this year we can count a semi-final of the Challenge Cup and a quarter-final of the URC, starting and not finishing points according to the player born in 2002.

In Treviso I can still grow a lot and contribute to future successes. We were satisfied with what we achieved this season, but we would have liked to have done even more. Finally, a projection on the short-term future. His name is on Gonzalo Quesada’s list of players called up for the summer tour in which the Azzurri will face Samoa, Tonga and Japan.
