The party for the 20 years of the Uisp Volleyball Championships in Rimini
Two weekends and hundreds of matches to celebrate the anniversary as part of the SportPerTutti Fest 2024. F. Giorgetti speaks
A new weekend dedicated to Uisp sport is about to begin on the Romagna Riviera, with i National volleyball and football championships. After Gymnastics, Basketball and Swimming, the celebration continues Sportpertutti Fest 2024, the national Uisp container which includes the finals of the Uisp activity sectors of Gymnastics, Volleyball, Football and Swimming. Between June and July, thousands of people, especially young people, will reach the welcoming towns of Rimini, Riccione and other cities of the Riviera from all over Italy, and will be based at the Uisp Village of the “Sportpertutti Fest 2024” which will be built near Operà, via Goethe 46 , located in the Marano area, the border area between Rimini and Riccione. Competitions and matches will take place in over 18 gyms for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, around 20 football pitches located between Rimini and Riccione and playgrounds for skating and outdoor activities. The Uisp national volleyball championships open in Rimini on Thursday 20 Junewhich until Sunday 23 June will feature adults, male and female, mixed, under 17 and under 18 female. From Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th July it will be the turn of young peoplefrom under 11 to under 16, around 1000 people for 60 teams, almost entirely female.
“On both weekends we will celebrate 20 years of Uisp Volleyball in Rimini – he says Fabrizio Giorgetti, Uisp national volleyball manager – we will do this during the awards ceremonies and through the gadgets, t-shirts and key rings, which we will distribute to all participants. This year we decided to focus on sustainability with prizes made of wood, to reduce our environmental impact. Another added value of this edition will be the inclusion within the Sportpertutti Fest 2024: this merger between our various activities it’s very beautiful, we manage to show what we do every day in the area, enhancing the relevant aspects of our sport, such as inclusion and solidarity. Furthermore, the significant numbers of presences that we can field show the weight of the Uisp also in the relationship with local administrations, with positive effects that we see from year to year”.
We start with the adults’ competitions, but they will also take to the field together mental health centers and some sitting volleyball representatives: it will be a weekend of sport, friendship and inclusion, thanks to the five CSM teams who will play some matches without ranking, but will still receive the prize for participation. Furthermore, a triangular sitting volleyball tournament is scheduled for Sunday, to show another side of the Uisp sport and enhance its inclusive characteristics.
The program of the championship days is very rich and alternates, between the meetings in the 14 gyms of Rimini, aggregative and festive moments to be shared between the teams from various Italian regions: “For us the Championships are always an opportunity to bring together our company, for this reason we thought about various moments that we can experience together – continues Giorgetti – on Thursday, the opening day with accreditations to the Opera, will close with a dinner on the beach in which all the teams will participate; a dancing evening is scheduled for Friday, again at the Uisp Village and on Saturday 22 June, we will have a big pool party at the Beach village”.
The numbers confirm the adherence to the aggregative spirit proposed by Uisp Volleyball, with 65 teams registered and around 800 participantswhich include many new teams, also coming from Campania for the first time.
Also the second weekend of races, from 4 to 7 July, includes many collateral activities aimed at the young participants, who will number more than a thousand. “We will have the opportunity to share some activities with the young participants in the Riccione Sun Festival, gymnasts and gymnasts who come from various parts of the world. On Thursday evening all the girls will take part in our pool party, while on Friday we will go to the square in Riccione to attend the closing of the Festival del sole. Finally, on Saturday evening, on the occasion of the traditional Pink Night of Rimini, there will be a free evening and the opportunity to experience it in the way you prefer”.
There will be a dozen Uisp staff who will ensure the smooth running of the event, managers and operators who have followed the Championships for years, competent and generous people who support the teams and participants. “As always, in addition to the prize for the best players in each category, we will also deliver the Discipline Cupbased on the points assigned by the referees to each club for their behavior on the pitch: for us it is important that let there always be fairplay, respect for opponents and referees at the center, from the warm-up to the final whistle. Our approach is welcoming and low-stress, everyone can play here and should aim to have fun. This year the youth championships ended in July, therefore in a more difficult period because the summer holidays will have already started, and we are very satisfied to have confirmed last year’s numbers”.
