Enzo Raiola smiles when he talks about Ibrahimovic, Zlatan is one of the family. The Swede does not forget who brought him to Italy and helped him become a top player: “he has always been close to us, even during Mino’s illness. He told us that he will always be there for us” says Raiola, a guest in our editorial office. Ibra 2.0 is the manager who announced Fonseca’s arrival at Milan, the one who doesn’t want to sit down and talk to the agents during the negotiations: ” He always told me too that he didn’t want to get into discussions related to figures, numbers… he chose Mino as his agent to let him do everything. When he says that he has little patience, he is right: he cannot sit and deal with the agents, his experience must be exploited for something else.”
How do you see it as a manager?
“He is a very thoughtful person, and mistakes are often made when one improvises or is in a hurry to make certain choices. Zlatan has great experience and such a strong character that there is no pressure that can move him. He will do very well and He will be a great leader.”
Gravenberch has often been linked to Serie A and also to Milan, has there ever been the possibility of seeing him in Italy?
“There was strong interest in the Ajax issue from the three top Italian clubs; when he was at Bayern Munich some club came forward thinking of signing him at a sale price because he played less, but that didn’t happen.”
