Dinamo Banco di Sardegna is pleased to announce the signing of the Spanish national player Umo Diallo Dieng in the Dinamo Women 2024/2025. Last year at Sanga Milano in the first part of the season she finished with 10.2 points and 5 rebounds on average: a solid player inside the area she is called upon to give depth to coach Restivo’s team. The coach’s words: “We know her well because we saw her last year in Milan: she is a player who can give us that depth and physicality that we are looking for and that we didn’t often have last year. Even though she is young, Diallo has good experience having played in Spain and France and last year in our championship.”

THE PROFILE – Born in 1998, Umo was born in the Canary Islands. She is a 193cm center, she is an internal player who has good hands both in shooting from medium distance and in passing the ball. She is called to give depth to the Sassari team, she can be a weapon in defense and useful for rebounds as well as a good offensive turnover.

THE CARREER – Diallo took his first steps at the age of 14 in the Spanish second league at Segle XXI, in 2017 he made his debut in the top flight with Araski AES, and then moved to Stadium Casablanca the following season. In 2020 she won the championship with Baloncesto Avenida and made her debut in Eurocup Women, finishing in second place. The following year she joined Lei Estudiantes and then moved to Turkey to join Nesibe Aydin and subsequently to France to join Flammes Carolo. She lands in the Italian championship in 2023 under the guidance of coach Pinotti with Sanga Milano: before moving to Mexico, Rojas de Veracruz during the current season, she averaged 10.2 points and 5 rebounds in our top league.

NATIONAL – Umi Diallo won seven medals with the Spanish national team, three golds (Eurobasket U16, U18 and U20), three silvers (BAM Tournament and U17 World Championships and Eurobasket U18) and one bronze (Eurobasket U16).
