Italian tennis players are starting to prepare for Wimbledon by playing other tournaments on grass
5.30pm – The first day of the “Rothesay International” (WTA 250) which is being played on the grass in Birmingham, Great Britain, couldn’t have gone better for Italian tennis.

2.30pm – Victorious debut for Lorenzo Sonego in the first round at the ‘Wortmann Open’ in Halle (ATP 500 on grass at the OWL Arena, prize money of 2,411,390 euros) at the expense of the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic (n. 54 in the ranking) beaten 7-6 7-6. Now the Turin tennis player will face, in the second round, the winner of the German derby between Oscar Otte and the no. 4 in the world Alexander Zverev.
2.23pm – Good debut at the Queens Club for the winner of the tournament in 2014, Grigor Dimitrov, who swept away Adrian Mannarino (35) in two sets 6-1, 6-2.
