Bertram Derthona, Giovanni Bassi in coach De Raffaele’s technical staff

Bertram Derthona communicates that an agreement has been reached with Giovanni Bassiwho from 2024/25 will become part of coach Walter De Raffaele’s technical staff.

CAREER – Born in Pistoia on 10 March 1976, after a career as a player which also saw him play on the parquets of Serie A, Bassi began his career as head coach in Bottegone, Tuscany, in the team playing in Serie C. From In 2013 he moved to Empoli, where he remained for the following six years. In the first two seasons he was the head coach of the USE Eccellenza youth team and, in one of these two years, he also led the Serie D. In the following four years he was the head coach of the USE team playing in Serie B.

After completing his experience in Tuscany, in the 2019/20 season the new Juventus assistant signed with Green Basket Palermo, a club playing in the Serie B championship. Having ended the season prematurely due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Bassi played again in the summer of 2020 return to Tuscany, signing with Umana San Giobbe Chiusi.

He remained at the technical guide of the Club for four seasons, including the one just concluded, achieving great results: in 2020/21 he won the championship and achieved promotion to A2. In the first year in the second Italian series, he reached the semi-final of the Super Cup, the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup, finished the season in fourth place and reached the playoff semi-final. In 2022/23 Chiusi reaches the promotion playoffs again.

In 2023/24 he leads Umana Chiusi for the fourth and final season, thus totaling 160 games on the Club’s bench. Now he arrives at Bertram Derthona to start a new adventure in his career.
