Pernat slams Ducati: “Marquez disavows youth politics” – News

Ducati, Marc Marquez is here

Just to have Marc Marquez in the official team alongside Francesco Bagnaia, Ducati has lost highly valued riders such as Jorge Martin, Enea Bastianini and – in all probability – Marco Bezzecchi. And not only that, because the Pramac team is also considering saying goodbye and moving to Yamaha, disappointed at not being able to have a top-level rider in the team.

Pernat’s thought

Carlo Pernata well-known face of MotoGP and manager of Enea Bastianini, analyzed this to his colleagues Motosprint Ducati’s decision: “Everyone has the right to do what they want inside a home, obviously, given that there are strategies that we may not know about. However, the youth policy carried out from post-Dovizioso onwards has been disavowed, which has definitely brought results so far. Suddenly the strategy changed. They let two riders aged 26 and 27 go to take on one, 31, who however is called Marc Marquez. I wouldn’t have done it. Now we’re aiming to have two big names together, that’s okay.”

Bastianini’s manager then recounted the negotiations he had with KTM, denying that he had ever concretely discussed his rider with other manufacturers, underlining in a cryptic manner: “I’m not a manager who brings a rider, halfway through the season, in the Aprilia truck together with an Aprilia rider, because it’s not something from a professional environment. There are contracts and they must be respected. Obviously I won’t name names, but I have always behaved well with everyone and continue to do so.”
