Entertainment, emotions and even a bit of suspense on the first day of competition in the main draw of the first stage (Gold) of the Italian beach volleyball championship scheduled in Caorle. The wait was all for Ivan Zaytsev who made his debut on the sand paired with Daniele Lupo on a not exactly unforgettable day, with two real battles (the first truly spectacular lost with Caminati/Krumins took advantage of the tiebreak and the second won with Geromin/Camozzi and then the withdrawal due to cramps before starting the second match of the losers’ draw: no one expected walks for Zaytsev who, with his work and his great class and a teammate like Daniele Lupo, will still be able to get satisfaction from this season.
In the men’s field, the surprise of the day is the Venetian-Romagna couple Luisetto/Spadoni who flies to the semi-final with a trio of successes, while the other pairing to directly access the semi-final is the blue colored one made up of Visconvich/Dal Corso. The reigning champions are in the losers’ bracket Benzi/Bonifazi will face Lancellotti/Bertoli and Ingrosso/Dal Molin will face Caminati/Krumins.
Among women Sara Breidenbach, paired with They, as reigning Italian champion, she flies to the semifinals with a trio of successes. Instead, she will have to pass through the losers’ bracket to her ex-partner, Giada Benazzi who, paired with Lantignotti, was defeated by Fransca7Gradini who restarted from a semi-final and an en plein of victories to attack the Italian title.
