The European Football Championships, which this year will be held in Germany, begin today, Friday 14 June 2024. The first to take the field, for Group A, are the national team of the host country and Scotland. The match will be played at 9pm. Italy’s first match (Group B) will be tomorrow, Saturday 15 June, against Albania (also at 9pm).
Euro 2024, where to see them on TV
The European Championships can be seen on Sky channels and in streaming on NowTV and Sky Go. Of the 51 matches scheduled, 22 (including all those of Italy) will be broadcast on Rai 1 and 9 on Rai 2. It will also be possible to watch them in streaming on RaiPlay and listen to them on the radio.
There are a total of 24 participating teams, divided into six groups, and the group stage of the tournament will last from 14 to 26 June. The top two in each group, plus the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16. Until 26 June, matches are scheduled every day (at 3pm, 6pm and 9pm), then two days of rest before the direct elimination phase: the final will be on 14 July at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
England appear in Germany as great favorites and with an enormous desire for redemption. France follows and closes the podium of favourites, Germany, which has not won the title for 28 years, thanks to Bierhoff’s Golden Goal against the Czech Republic, and they dream of becoming the fourth national team, after Spain, Italy and France, to win in front to their fans. It’s Italy? The Azzurri present themselves as reigning Champions and return to Germany exactly 18 years after the world title won on the magical night in Berlin. Returning to the Olympiastadion will not be easy at all but, as we know, when the national team starts from Underdog it ends up surprising and, perhaps, triumphing.
