The URC announced the winners of two other individual awards in the week leading up to the championship semi-finals: the award for the best young player and the best goal of the year, originally the Next-Gen Player of the Season Award and the Try of the Season Award.

The award for the best young player was chosen through a vote carried out by members of the media, who had to indicate who was the best player of the season among those who achieved at least 9 league appearances, started the season as under 23 and with less of 5 international caps.

The Next-Gen Player of the Season Jack Crowley, fly-half for Munster and the Irish national team, was therefore certainly one of the brightest young talents on the URC scene. He combined 13 league appearances with 2 tries, 110 points and was instrumental in securing first place at the end of the regular season for his team.

Crowley succeeds Ulster hooker Tom Stewart, awarded last year, and South African number 8 Evan Roos of the Stormers, best young player in the 2021/2022 season.

The best goal of the 2023/2024 season is instead of the Sharks’ attacking midfielder Aphelele Fassi, author of a brilliant solo in the thirteenth round of the championship against Edinburgh. The destination of the year was selected with a public vote in which over 5 thousand enthusiasts participated.
