Givova Scafati announces that, with an annual contract, it has closed an agreement with coach Damiano Pilot for the role of first assistant alongside head coach Marcelo Nicola. Native of Casal Palocco, born in 1989, Damiano Pilot is a product of Eurobasket Roma, a club with which he has completed the entire youth system, from Under 16 to Under 18 d’Eccellenza, passing through the role of assistant coach, up to take over from coach Massimo Maffezzoli during the 2019/20 Serie A2 championship. In the following sporting year he led, again as head coach, the Capitolini (for the first time in their history) to the A2 series playoffs. In June 2022 he signed for Allianz Pazienza San Severo, also in Serie A2. In this championship he also coached the season just ended, this time at the helm of Moncada Agrigento.

The goal of those who do a job like this is to always aim for the maximum and to be able to sit on a bench in the most important national championship. I will be lucky enough to do it in a place like Scafati, which has made itself known and appreciated in the national basketball scene for its skills, value and passion; a reality that I knew very well as an opponent. Playing in front of that crowd must really be the best. I can’t wait to get started and make myself available to coach Nicola, to provide the maximum of my contribution and work to achieving the seasonal objectives.”
