Game 1 of the NBA final goes to Boston.

The Celtics were overwhelming at times and demolished the resistance of the Dallas Mavericks: the final score was 107-89.

Already in the first quarter of the game the hosts made the difference, with a fierce defense and good solutions in attack. At the end of the first half the Celtics had a 21-point lead (63-42) in the bedlam of the TD Garden (Pep Guardiola was also in the stands). In the second half Dallas started strong thanks to a deadly Luka Doncic (30 points and 10 rebounds), taking advantage of a decline in the opponents and reaching within 8 points, but it was a blaze: Boston took back control of the game with the defense and confirmed the lead until the end.

For the Celtics the best were the Latvian Kristaps Porzingis, former player and returning from injury, who scored 20 points with 6 rebounds, and Jaylen Brown (22 points), good performance also for Jayson Tatum (16 points and 10 rebounds) and for Derrick White (15 points). Among the Mavericks, in addition to Doncic, noteworthy are the performances of PJ Washington (14 points and 8 rebounds) and the other great ex, Kyrie Irving, who scored 12 points. Game 2 on Monday night again in Boston.
