July 2, 2024 Pinerolo will become the stage for the departure of the 4th stage of the Tour de Francethe first major Alpine stage with the Pinerolo-Valloire.
The city had already hosted a stage in 2011, and this year it is preparing to welcome thousands of people from all over the world again. There tour caravan is made up of 4,500 people, including 1,000 accredited journalists for 650 international media.
The stage Pinerolo-Valloirewhich will start at 1.00 pm, is the first major Alpine stage of the Tour de France 2024. The cyclists will face the climb to the 2035 meters of Colle del Sestriere, and then continue towards the Montgenèvre and the Galibieruntil the finish line of Valloire.
The center of Pinerolo will be the centerpiece of the event. The Tour village will be set up in pPiazza Vittorio Venetowhile the starting podium will be positioned in Corso Turin, at number 18. From here, cyclists will set off in non-competitive mode, crossing the historic center of the city. The route will touch via Duca degli Abruzzi, piazza San Donato, via Trento, piazza Santa Croce, Stradale Fenestrelle and via Nazionale, up to the starting point of the stage on SR23, 4 km from the meeting point.
The event will lead to a series of changes to traffic both in the city and in the area. The construction of the village in pPiazza Vittorio Veneto it will begin on Monday 1st July and will continue throughout the night, with parking prohibited from 8am on 1st July until approximately 6pm on 2nd July.
Expected Do not stop from 6pm on July 1st on the numerous streets and squares of the city center that will be affected by the event (they will be communicated in detail with a specific ordinance). Parking ban also in via Baden Powell, technical parking area with 25 heavy vehicles, in the via Dei Rochis car park for the positioning of the 160 light vehicles of the advertising caravan and in Piazza Don Lorenzo Milani.
As for parking, the technical parking of the advertising caravan will be located in via Baden Powellwhile the positioning of the 160 light vehicles of the caravan will take place in the parking lot of via dei Rochis, 1 km from the start. In the end Piazza d’Armi will be reserved for logistics vehicles from Monday 1st July at 4pm until Tuesday 2nd July at 5pm.
