There Juventus has definitively closed the second era of Massimiliano Allegri as coach of the club and yesterday evening the official announcement arrived, somewhat surprisingly, of the agreement for the consensual termination of the contract which would have expired on June 30, 2025 and for which the parties had threatened legal action. The key word in this agreement is “consensual” which, consequently, provides for a severance pay negotiated between the parties.
THE DETAILS OF THE CLASH – To understand how it went, however, we must first take a step back and understand what was at stake between the parties after the exemption announced after the Italian Cup victory. In his farewell statement, Juventus underlined the “unsuitable” attitudes to the image of the club by considering dismissal for just cause. Allegri, for his part, rejected the accusations, confirming, with a letter sent to the club, that he had not engaged in any type of harmful attitude. The threat of a legal battle was on the horizon.

20 MILLION – To say goodbye without breaking up with the company, Allegri had asked for full payment for the last year. The figures are known: 7 million euros +2 net possible bonuses to which the percentage for his staff must be added for a total of 20 million euros gross (after bonuses achieved). In total the request for termination was approximately 14 million euros.
ELKANN THOUGHT OF IT – But how did we go from frost to agreement? Surgery was necessary “of the engineer” as Allegri usually calls him. In the last two weeks there have been two meetings between the Livorno coach and John Elkannowner of Exor and therefore of Juventus. First at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix, and then at Wembley for the Champions League final, the two met and they found a way to end the relationship peacefully.
THE FIGURES – Elkann has been trying to keep Juventus for some time away from the courtrooms and has demonstrated it several times also in sports justice trials on capital gains and salary maneuvers. And with Cheer up he wanted to do the same. According to Corriere dello Sportin the end, the transaction to close this parenthesis will be around 4-5 million euros.
