The women’s Team 80 Gabicce rises to Serie B by beating Amandola San Benedetto del Tronto 2-0 in the women’s Serie C playoff series. A great result obtained at the end of a competitive season played improving from match to match. “We had a growing season – comments coach Alessandro Della Balda –, arriving fourth in the standings we always had the field factor against us, but we beat all those above us and went on to win, with full merit, away from home with the first and the second place, demonstrating that other factors count in the playoffs that we inserted at the right time. We played better volleyball than the other teams, a volleyball of team and character. The facts take place on the field and we were the best at make them happen as per our wishes.”
The word goes to Alice Franchi, the captain: “We started the year as a group of people with one goal: to have fun. We finished the year as a team. A team capable of fighting together, always helping each other. The goal was always that: having fun. It was even better because it was a promotion that came unexpectedly, leaving us speechless and filling us with tears.
