Young aspiring Ceccons are growing up and among them there is already an Italian backstroker looking for the great results obtained by the Italian backstroker. His name is Christian Bacico and insiders have already had their eyes on him for some time. Born in 2005, Bacico has been swimming since he was six years old in the facility in via Ferrini a Broni where he began his competitive activity in the Gis Milano team, a company that at the time managed the Oltrepò swimming pool.
A constant growth characterized the career of the Italian backstroker who moved to Como Swimming and, under the guidance of Verika Scorza, began to obtain very high results at youth level. The Lombard swimmer attends the Novedrate college, connected to the E-Campus online university, and trains in Lentate sul Seveso, at the swimming pool managed by the Como company.
Last year Bacio achieved a splendid bronze medal at the Youth World Championship world champion with a time of 54″08 which placed him among the greats of the specialty even before competing with the seniors. Christian Bacico, however, also won a gold and a silver at the European Championships last year. The victory of the young Como native, coached by Verika Scorza, came in the men’s 4×100 mixed race. Christian Bacico (55″35), Christian Mantegazza (1’02″52), Daniele Momoni (53″42) and Lorenzo Ballarati (48″51) won the photo finish with a final time of 3’39″80. Behind the Azzurri, the Danes finished in 3’39’84. Third was France (3’42″16). The individual silver instead came in the 100 backstroke. Bacico finished with a time of 54″36, lowering the 54″52 of the semi-final. In front of him, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Zheltyakov (54”18).
Last winter he did a lot also good in short course and promises to be one of the references of the generation ready to take flight after the Paris Games and in view of the Los Angeles 2024 Games. The young backstroker from Pavia he often bases his game on very fast passes with the attempt to better manage the return, even if the 50 are not exactly the house specialty. An athlete obviously with wide margins for improvement which is worth investing in because the qualities are not lacking and the expectation of seeing it at work in the next international events is high.
