With an irresistible sprint three kilometers from the finish line, Luca Attolini achieved his third success of the season by winning the 54th Bagnolo Sports Cup for juniors. A record edition for the Prato classic with 181 starters from 29 teams, on a track with 11 flat laps for a total of 83 km and four laps with the short but tough climb of the Rocca which split the group which had remained compact for a long time. After an attempt by seven runners, at the beginning of the final lap (8 and a half km to the end) the race saw a group of 24 runners in the lead who battled and split up on the “wall” of the Rocca.

Seven remained in the lead and therefore with three thousand meters to go the vigorous and powerful push of Attolini, who had already won two previous races. Garbi and Rolando chased him behind but were unable to catch the pacesetter as he crossed the finish line for his third success. A success that confirms the excellent qualities of the winner who resisted until the end, also receiving compliments from the second place who said he was the strongest of all. Garbi’s and Rolando’s performances were excellent, while among the Tuscans competing we should mention Petri from Pistoia, Pavi Degl’Innocenti from Florence and Iacchi. The Bagnolo race organized by Seanese Corse and the local Committee was also valid for the Prato provincial championship title achieved by Ruggero Lombardi who races in the Pistoiese Team.
