It was one of the most anticipated matches of the first round of Roland Garros. Together with the match between Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal which will be played on Monday 27 May, there was also a lot of anticipation for the match between the Slam champions, between Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray.

The match that closed the opening day on central court saw Stan Wawrinka overcome a Andy Murray very far from top condition. Total domination of the Swiss player who finished 6-4 6-4 6-2 in two and a quarter hours of the match.

Wawrinka who in recent days gave an interesting interview specifically related to himself and Murray, he immediately took the lead 3-1 and closed the first set with a score of 6-4. Even in the second set the script did not change: the Swiss took the lead with an almost immediate break and then completed the navigation by closing the second set again 6-4.

Virtually the same music also in the third set with the only difference that Wawrinka took the lead even more clearly with two breaks, closing 6-2. The clay and the fact that Murray arrived in Paris after yet another injury stoppage and therefore not at his best had a clear impact.

A match that has never been in question.

Roland Garros, clear defeats for Luca Nardi and Martina Trevisan

Heavy defeat for Luca Nardi who was beaten three sets to zero 6-4 6-1 6-3 by the Frenchman Alexandre Muller.

In fact there has never been a match with Nardi fouling a lot and failing to create difficulties for his opponent. Muller ahead by a break in the first set on court 7 with a stadium atmosphere in favor of the French tennis player who flew 4-1.

Nardi made it 4-4. But it was a temporary illusion: too passive in his service game at 4-5, he gave up the first set on a short ball that ended up in the net. Second set without history with the Frenchman who broke away at 4-0 and easily closed the set 6-1. Nardi seemed to definitively exit the match.

Down two breaks in the third too, he recovered one but ended up losing 6-3. Clear defeat and a match to forget Nardi. Nothing to do either Martina Trevisan in the women’s singles. The blue tennis player didn’t have an impossible match: she was opposed to the player coming from the qualifiers Olga Danilovic which won with a score of 6-1 6-2 in an hour and 20 minutes. The score says a lot about the progress of the match which always saw the Serbian in control.
